Here, my attention turns to the disappearing world of childhood play. The mental snapshot of children playing on tree stumps is striking in my recollection as it encapsulated the joy and unbridled exuberance of my youth. Wistfully, the earth-bound games fell to the status of relics of the past because of the ceaseless pull of technology. With my sculptures, I aim to preserve these recollections and the boundless connection with nature and spirit imagination. With the use of different textures and techniques in the recycled cloth, I aim to summon the roughness of the bark, movement of the leaves, and the energy children exude when they are in their element. This chapter is both an homage and a gentle critique of the culture shift.
