Meet the Artist
A self-taught contemporary artist from Punjab creates acrylic and mixed-media paintings on canvas, incorporating abstract and figurative elements. The artist's work is inspired by human emotions and nature, using a vibrant color palette and various mediums for texture. Experimenting with fabrics and metals on wooden panels adds another dimension to the artist's creativity. The artist's passion for painting was sparked in school after reading "The Last Leaf" by O. Henry, and the pandemic in 2020 provided an opportunity to fully devote to visual arts. Starting with oil paints and focusing on figurative paintings, the artist transitioned to acrylic paints for their versatility. Moving to Canada in 2022 influenced a drastic change in the artist's art style.
The "Love Notes to Self" series was created in 2023 by the artist after returning to India from Canada to pursue a full-time career in painting. Each painting in the series represents the emotions experienced by the artist, with each piece serving as a love note to themselves and acting as their own cheerleader in the artistic process.
