I used to sit at a beach for hours every day observing the tides. On the way back home, I saw a 6-7-year-old playing in front of his home. He asked me if I had a chalk. I kept walking without saying no. I observed a fishing net in front of the tilted mud walls, sensed the poverty but kept walking.
The next day, I got some chalk from a shop before starting to walk towards the beach. As I walked towards his home, the boy kept looking at me with no expectation. I walked towards him and held a handful of milky chalk in front of him. The twinkle in his eyes was like something I had not seen for a long time. We smiled and he ran away.
On my way back, he raised a slate from the asymmetrical door showing his drawing and I call it art.
