Lalit Bhartiya

Lalit Bhartiya’s sculptures reflect his deep connection to his childhood village, Saboli Bagh, in North East Delhi, a place once rich with greenery, ponds, and open landscapes. His work captures the loss brought on by rapid urbanization, portraying the transformation of vibrant rural life into concrete structures. Using direct metal techniques and oxidized patinas with green and blue tones, Bhartiya’s dried organic forms embody the haunting memory of what was once alive. Through his Lost Village series, he mourns the past and warns of a future distanced from nature.
