Kavyansh Bohara

Growing up amid vernacular architecture, I witnessed the slow loss of heritage structures in my hometown. This sparked my exploration into how environmental, political, religious, and social forces shape the decay of old architecture.

My work reflects on the changing cityscape and how increasing industrialization and western influences erode aesthetic and cultural identity. I juxtapose the detailed beauty of the past with the stark present to highlight this contrast and its effect on collective memory.

I also examine the politicization of monuments and its role in widening religious and social divides. Through my art, I raise questions on preserving architectural heritage, navigating modernization, and fostering unity in a time of deep cultural shifts.
