Dipa Patowary

Dipa Patowary is a multidisciplinary artist from Guwahati, Assam, whose work is rooted in memory, spirituality, and material exploration. Influenced by the idea of resurrection and his Assamese heritage, he uses humble materials like cotton, thread, and collage to explore themes of life, death, and the persistence of the soul.

Drawing inspiration from the traditional silk practices of Assam and personal memories, Dipa treats cotton not as fabric, but as pigment—softened, dyed, and transformed. His abstract compositions act as visual meditations, challenging hierarchies in art and culture while offering a deeply personal narrative of identity and experience.
