When I was in school arts subjects encourage self – expression and creativity and can build confidence as well as a sense of individual identity,I thought “how artist makes paintings”; hence I decided to become an artist. I was born in Hubbali, Karnataka state and brought up In Surat city, Gujarat state. After completing D.T.T ( Drawing teacher diploma ) from P.A institute in 2009 and B.F.A from Shivaji university, I completed M.F.A in 2018.
As far as I see art market, I think, need to create my own art style to make a career in art field. I experiments in genre of Traditional Contemporary art and highly inspired by paintings of Raja Ravi Varma. His paintings regard to Malayalam people of 17th century and reveal their culture and livelihood. The paintings, which depict mythological Hindu deities, mythological characters, tribal life, sometime European style and themes from everyday life.
I always enjoy while working, most important thing, before starting to paint it creates the
predications for same “How will aspect after complete” so that achieve expected result. I paint what I
imagine, what I see around me, what I feel in daily life and which I’m deeply connected with. My work is largely based on village people and rural life as well as I try to express “ How beautiful god created all natural things is ! “ Everyday I wake up with new ideas and what makes my life more meaningful and whatever I’ll do it also makes other happy.
As for my technique, I use bold, sweeping brushstrokes while painting and restricted my palette to seven vibrant and earthy colours – Indian red, yellow ochre, cadmium green, vermillion, grey, blue and white.
Expressing one’s feeling and imagination through colours and canvas is full of
creative and “creativity inspire you to do more creativeness”. My exploration of art is take our Indian culture to the next level through my work; My art is my voice, a powerful interpretation of my deepest thought, hidden emotion and stronger desires. The images are I create are coined from personal experiences and fears, interest, these ideas experiences are better perceived through art and rather than spoken.
The best thing in 21st century is internet, through it,we have extend the reach of creative possibilities which makes it easy to connect to different people of the world and awareness about art; Internet gave opportunities to artist to sell their artworks to sit at home. There are many Tradition art of India which have been internationally recognized and highly praised. We express our feelings, emotions, thoughts and admire our surroundings, nature, flora, and fauna, and respect our deities and mythology through these art forms. “ Painting is not only painted canvas, it’s being filled spirit of
artist “ says Chetan Katigar.
