Aniket Devgirkar’s project From Darkness to Truth emerges from a deeply personal experience yet addresses the widespread social issue of addiction. Rooted in his father’s struggle with alcohol, the work reflects both private memory and a collective reality affecting many families in India, especially in rural and marginalized communities. Working across watercolour, oil, pastels, and sculpture, he explores layers of emotion and trauma. His practice becomes both personal healing and public awareness, urging reflection on this silent social crisis.
