This artwork is inspired by the sacred Buddhist symbol ‘Unalome’. The Unalome represents the path to enlightenment. I have interpreted this to represent growth — both inner and outer. As we grow physically, so should we aspire to ascend towards our spiritual and mental growth. The size of the circles increase from small to big to represent this fact.
Life begins directionless, aimless (1st circle). We then become controlled by our 5 senses (2nd circle). While still looking for our path and a direction in life.. we enter a state of confusion looking for answers (8rd circle), and finally we find our path and move straight towards our goal ( 4th circle). The dot at the top represents both ‘death’ as well as ‘goal’.
This entire circle of life is always connected to the larger picture i.e. creation, nature- hence the floral background representing the same takes precedence over our circles of life.

Meet the Artist

I am a self-taught, mixed media nature artist from Hyderabad, India. I like to create artwork that will excite and inspire people to re-connect with nature. I use a varied range of colours and motifs inspired from nature to create a lively, pulsating and energetic visual. My highly detailed artwork has lots of layers and textures to create the desired effect. Watercolours, acrylics, pens, inks, pigments – my busy, elaborate canvases have it all. Almost illustrative in style, they bring life to any room.
