This work depicts a farm land of my native place which is divided by a road passing through it with a house on one side of the land. Open window metaphorically represents my memory of that place.

Meet the Artist

My practice principally deals with the representation of migration and memories in visual culture. I return to my native land with the help of my memories. Besides living in Hyderabad, there is nostalgia in mind which brings me back to my homeland. Elements such as the regional spirit of West Bengal, the nostalgia of identity, homelessness, dislocation, lack of acceptance, the search for cultural roots, expatriate memories and alienation are beautifully portrayed in my works.
I find relief in narrating the visions and feelings of my home and try to fill these with every object, every single event, and occasion of my displaced memories— apart from the migrant sensibility—as my attempted to identify himself.
