Meet the Artist

Manjit Gogoi
My art is fueled by ecology, environment, and social truths, rooted in my upbringing near Assam's Kaziranga National Park. Raised in an eco-conscious family, I address human impacts on nature, including habitat loss, species extinction, climate disruption, contamination, and resource exploitation. Initially, I incorporated local materials like bamboo, cane, and clay from Assam into my work, reflecting traditional crafts. However, after relocating to Mumbai for my studies, I adapted to urban waste, such as construction debris, plastic, and e-waste, upcycling them in my creations while conserving ecological values. My goal is to spark a broader dialogue on environmental issues and encourage a proactive approach to planetary caretaking, urging those who engage with my art to join the quest for a sustainable, flourishing world.
