Tufan Pramanik

Born in the rural village of Gangrai in West Bengal, I grew up as a huge enthusiast of traveling.

This experience has continuously been reflected in my art practice. I use plenty of black-and-white surfaces to draw out imagery, utilizing basic materials like charcoal, canvas, paper, blackboard, board, junk material and more. I depict my daily journey into rural climes from bustling urban ones — a contrast that plays into my choice of a black-and-white medium.
