Transposing Myth

I spent most of my childhood in the temples-devras of my village. While staying in these temples-devras, I always observed the frescos depicting various mythological stories through pictorial language. I was fascinated by the workmanship of the people working there that ignited the artist hidden within me and I was inspired to do something towards art. To explore the hidden artist inside me, I started painting the traditional frescoes made in marriages, festivals, Devras, ete. in Udaipur- my hometown, using pen and ink as a medium. In my works, I cherish the memories of my childhood by rendering the compositions based on the subjects such as, the village temple, epics from the Hindu mythologies, etc. The process of rendering and painting my artworks involves a lot of experiments.
